  1. @mk @erkanyilmaz seems like I missed another opportunity to meet people I only know online. In September I forgot that @tobias lives in Berlin :)

  5. @tobias it seems that only certain notices make it through to my SN instance, so that made me wonder...

  6. wonders why he gets a notice by @evan on his instance. I thought after the conversion to pump we lost connections to identi.ca

  15. @laurelrusswurm i would go even as far as recommending you to write your stuff as markdown-formatted .txt and use http://johnmacfarlane.net/pandoc/ to convert it to LaTeX for nice presentation and typesetting into a book as a final step. separate content and form :)

  16. @laurelrusswurm but having a bare-bones system like you've installed is great for testing. more "customization" can be done with the LaTeX editor, I prefer http://www.tug.org/texworks/ on Linux and Windows (both work) and http://pages.uoregon.edu/koch/texshop/ on OS X.

  17. @laurelrusswurm at work I've installed texlive such that missing packages are installed on the fly. this is very convenient, i.e. everytime you want to use a new package it's installed.
